MyMonii Subscription

Does the MyMonii app cost money?

Yes, we have decided that the MyMonii app is a full payment solution, which means that there is no longer a free version of the app. There is a one-week free trial before your chosen subscription starts. You have the option to order the MyMonii Visa card afterwards, free of charge.

If you became a MyMonii Premium user before June 2022, you will still follow the payment solution. But if you are a new user, you can choose between a monthly or annual subscription - which applies to the whole family.

How do I change my subscription?

If you want to switch from, for example, a monthly to an annual subscription, you do this on the subscription owner's app via Settings > Subscription > Manage subscription, after which you will be guided to the App Store - Apple or Google Play Store settings respectively, depending on whether you have an iPhone or Android.

If you want to cancel your subscription, this is also done on the subscription owner's app through Settings > Subscription > Manage subscription, after which you will be guided to the App Store - Apple or Google Play Store settings, respectively, depending on whether you have an iPhone or Android. Please note that all family members linked to the family will lose access to the app, but all history will be saved if you wish to subscribe again. Also be aware that if you have the MyMonii Visa card, this will no longer be usable if you cancel your subscription.

What happens to the money in the app if I cancel?

This is only relevant for users who have a MyMonii Visa card associated with the app. If you do not have a MyMonii Visa card, then it is not real money in the app, and thus there is no deposit.

If you as a subscription owner cancel your subscription in the app and you have a MyMonii Visa card, please note the following:

All investments made by the child will be sold and transferred to the child's Savings Account
Money in the child's Savings and Investment Account will be transferred to the Parent's Balance

How do I pay for the app?

MyMonii is subscription-based, which means that you have either an annual or monthly subscription.

All subscription payments are made directly through the App Store - Apple, or Google Play Store, depending on whether you started the subscription on an iPhone or Android.

How many users can I have under one subscription?

You can be as many family members as you want, under one subscription! That means one price for the whole family.

However, you can only order one MyMonii Visa card per child - free of charge through the app.

About the MyMonii Visa card

How does the MyMonii Visa card work?

The MyMonii Visa card is a prepaid card. Unlike a debit card or credit card, a prepaid card is not linked to any bank account.

You can't spend more money than is on the card. From the parent app, a spending limit is determined for the card and you can always freeze the card in the app.

The card can be used anywhere they accept Visa cards, both online and in physical stores.

PIN and 3DS password are required for some purchases and are always available in the app.

Can you just use the MyMonii Visa card without control?

Since your MyMonii Visa Card is a prepaid card, you can never spend more money than has been transferred to the card.

As a parent, you can also set a weekly spending limit and the card can be frozen and thawed from the app.

Lost MyMonii Visa card? What can I do?

If you lost your MyMonii Visa Card, immediately freeze the card from the app.

If you find the card again, it can be thawed again from the app.

If the card is not found, you'll need to order a new card. It costs DKK 100 to get a new card.

Does the MyMonii Visa card work with all banks and card types?

As a parent, you can transfer money to your child's MyMonii Visa Card with all types of Danish payment cards.

It does not matter which bank account you have as a parent, as the MyMonii Visa card is a "prepaid card" that you deposit to from your own card.

The MyMonii Visa card is 100% independent of the banks.

Can I withdraw money from from the MyMonii app and back into my bank account?

If you have a MyMonii Visa card and have transferred money to the parent balance but would like to get the money back, please email us at hello@mymonii.com and we can send the money back to you.

NOTE! If you use the MyMonii app without having a MyMonii Visa card, the money is not real money in the app and therefore real money cannot be withdrawn from the app.

Where can my MyMonii Card be used?

The MyMonii card is a Prepaid Visa card. It can therefore be used anywhere receiving Visa cards, including online or abroad.

How old does my child have to be to get MyMonii Visa card?

Your child must be at least 7 years old to get a MyMonii Visa card and must not be older than 18.

How is my money secured?

Wallester keeps customers' money in a secured account in Wallester's name at a bank.

Customer funds are kept separate from Wallester's own funds.

A bank account in which customer funds are held is covered by the Deposit Guarantee Scheme.

When is it real money in the app?

The money in the app is not real money if you do not have a Visa card. Then it’s just a digital overview of the child’s savings.If you order a Visa card, the money in the app will only be real the second you have activated the card. The card is only activated when you have entered the last four digits on the card, which you can only see when you receive the card.

Where can you order MyMonii Visa card?

At the moment, it’s only possible to order a MyMonii Visa card in Denmark and Germany. But you can show interest for your country in the app on the card page.

Setting up family and account

How do I invite my family to

Go to Settings > Family > Invite family member.

How do I delete my profile?

You cannot currently delete your profile via the app.

Please send an email to hello@mymonii.com with the email and phone number you used to create your profile. We will delete it as soon as possible.

I don't receive any SMS by invitation.

It is not necessary to have the SMS sent. It is enough that you are invited on the phone number you use. If you are invited, simply download the MyMonii app and log in and register with that phone number - you will automatically be added to the right family as the number is already invited and added to the family.

How do I invite a child without a phone number?

You can have a child in your MyMonii family without a phone number.

However, this means that the child cannot perform tasks and keep up with savings.

It is also not possible to order a MyMonii Visa card for a user without a phone number.

How do I add a phone number to a child?

Go to Settings > Family > Select the child you want to add a number for > Add phone number.

Why should I transfer money to a parent's balance?

If the parent balance was not there, it would cost money every time a small amount was transferred to the MyMonii Visa card.

That's why we have the Parent Balance, which is a pool of money to be topped up, so that many smaller amounts can be transferred from the Parent Balance to the MyMonii Visa card.

Where can me and my child find the PIN for the Visa card?

The PIN for your MyMonii Visa card can be found in both the parent and child app.You'll find the PIN under the settings in the app.

What is the weekly spending limit and how is it set?

The spending limit is a limit set for how much money you can spend with the MyMonii Visa card per week.

The spending limit can be set up and down from the parent app under settings.

My MyMonii Visa card doesn't work. What should I do?

Has it been used before?

NO:If this is your first time trying to use your MyMonii Visa Card, then it is important to ensure that the card is activated.

The card is activated inside the parent app under Card Settings. Follow the app's instructions to activate the card or find help in the card activation FAQ. When the card is activated, the card is listed as "Active".

Next, it is important to ensure:

That there's enough money on the savings account.
That weekly consumption limit is set. See the consumption limit under the card page in the parent app.
If there is money on the savings and the weekly spending limit is set, then the card is ready for first purchase.

NOTE: Remember to use chip and PIN when first using the card. Contactless payments can only then be made.

YES: If the card suddenly does not work but has worked before, then it may be one of the following:

Make sure you haven't used more than the weekly limit. You can increase the limit if you wish. Remember that it is automatically reset every Sunday.
Make sure the card is not disabled. You can see this in card settings.
Make sure there is enough money on the savings account to make the purchase.

What does happen to the child's pocket money after activating the card?

If you use the MyMonii app without having ordered the Visa card, it is not real money in the app.

It's just a digital overview between you and your child.

It's like having a note on the fridge where you write down an amount to keep track of the tasks you've done and the money in your pocket.

Only if you have ordered a MyMonii Visa card does it become real money. Therefore, the savings are reset as soon as you activate the card.

Then you transfer real money to the card, so it can be used in shops or online.

What is an Auto top-up and how to set it up?

With Auto top-up, you make sure there is always money standing on the parent balance.

If this balance goes to zero, it is not possible to transfer pocket money, or for the child to perform tasks.

Auto top-up works by the system automatically transferring money from your bank account to your parent balance as soon as the parent balance gets below 100 kr.

To enable Auto top-up, press the green button with a + on it next to your parent balance. Here you can choose to either transfer a single amount to your parent balance, or set up an Auto top-up that transfers the selected amount each time the balance goes below 100 kr.

Note! It is not possible to connect MobilePay to auto top-up for technical reasons. However, it is easy and quick to make individual top-ups with MobilePay.

How do I unsubscribe from the Auto top-up?

Auto top-up can be easily stopped and restarted as needed.

Simply go to Settings > Parent balance & top-up > Auto top-up > Settings > Tap Unsubscribe at the bottom of the page > Go back to the app.

How do I adjust the Auto top-up?

You can always change the amount that is topped up in the automatic top-up.

Go to Settings > Parent balance & top-up > Auto top-up > Change amount > Select a different amount > Tap Update > Follow the link to the browser > Accept the change > Go back to the app.

Can more adults transfer money into MyMonii app?

Right now, only the person who owns the app subscription can transfer money to the parent account. You can use several different payment cards to transfer money to the parent balance.

In the long term, we want to open up the possibility that other adults in the family in the MyMonii app can also be allowed to load money into the parent balance.

It is worth noting that all adults in the family can adjust and transfer pocket money and create tasks for the child, on an equal footing with the parent who is the owner of the subscription.

New debit card: How do I update it for payment and top-up?

If you signed up as a Premium customer before June 2022, you will need to update your card in two places.

1. For payment of the subscription.

2. To transfer money to the parent balance in the app.

Subscription maps are updated in the app by going to Settings > Profile > Subscription.

Cards to transfer money can be easily updated the next time you want to transfer money to the parent balance. If you have an auto top-up you can change the card by going to Settings > Parent balance & Top-up > Auto top-up > Settings.

How do I withdraw money from my child?

If you have now spent on your child, you can withdraw this amount from the balance inside the app.

If you have a MyMonii Visa card, the amount goes back on the parent's balance.

If you don't have a Visa card, the digital money simply disappears from your child's savings. It is a good idea to write in the description why you are withdrawing the money so that the child gets an understanding of what it means when money both comes and goes.

How do I set up fixed weekly or monthly spending?

It is a good idea to set a fixed allowance transfer so your child can learn what it means to wait for the next transfer and learn how to save up for something he or she wants.

If you want to transfer a fixed amount once a week or once a month, this can be set up in the MyMonii app. All you have to do is select "repeat" the next time you create a transaction and choose the frequency at which you want it repeated (every day, week, or month).

How do I transfer money to my child?

When you want to transfer money to the child in the MyMonii app, you just make a simple transfer by pressing the green plus button in the app.

Choose Insert or Raise > Give the download a name > Select amount > Choose for which child > Swipe on the Upload button.

Tasks / Household Tasks

How do you mark when a task is completed?

When a task is completed, it must be marked as solved in order for the money to be sent.

How do I undo completed task?

Is the task marked as done without being really solved? You can cancel it by clicking on the task and selecting "undo solved"..

How do I edit an existing task?

If a spelling error sneaks in or if one of your assignments has changed content, you can easily edit the assignment's text, amount, interval, etc.

How do I delete a fixed tasks?

Tasks can be changed over time. You can always edit or delete a task by clicking it or swiping it to the left.

How do the "First come, first served" tasks work?

If you use this feature when creating a task, only the child who first completes the task will receive the reward. Please note that you can only choose First Come, First Served tasks if there are at least two children who have profiles with phone numbers connected to them.

What is an indefinite task?

If you use this feature, the task will remain in place until it is resolved. Then it doesn't have to be on a particular day.

How do I create a repeating task?

If you want to do a repeating task, i.e. a task that the child gets every day/week/month or self-selected interval.

How does my child solve a task on their own?

If your child has their own user, i.e. connected to the app with a phone number, then they can solve tasks themselves, follow the savings and see their PIN for the MyMonii Card if they are Premium. It is also possible for the child to undo a solved task if it was not completely solved anyway 😉

Ordering the MyMonii Visa card

How do I cancel my MyMonii Premium subscription? (For users before June 2022)

If you are a subscriber before June 2022 and no longer want your MyMonii Premium subscription, you can cancel it in the settings of the parent app.

Remember that this means your child can no longer use their MyMonii Visa card.

When do I receive the MyMonii card?

From the time you order MyMonii Premium, you can expect to receive the Visa card within 14 days depending on the day of the week you ordered.

If a longer period of time has passed, an error may have occurred in the shipment. Therefore, please contact us at hello@mymonii.com and we will find out! 😊

Why do you need a picture of the social security card?

As it is a real Visa card, there are legal requirements for us to check that there is a parent-child relationship between the cardholder (parent) and the card user (child).

That's why we need to ask for the health insurance card, so we have proof that the adult ordering the card is also the parent. If you do not have a health insurance card, we can also accept a passport or birth certificate.

How much does MyMonii Premium cost? (For users before June 2022)

If you signed up as a MyMonii subscriber before June 2022, the MyMonii Premium subscription costs either DKK 29/month or DKK 289/year per child.

The first month is free.

The free trial will only start 4 weeks after you have ordered Premium.

How do I activate the MyMonii Visa card?

Once you have received the Visa card it is time to activate it!

To do this in the app, tap Activate Card. Then simply follow the steps that are in the app.

The app is behaving strangely, what do I do?

The vast majority of problems you have will be able to solve simply by ensuring that your phone (and that of your family members) have updated to the latest version of the MyMonii app on iOS or Android alike. Alternatively, you can restart the app and see if it has fixed your problem.

Does MyMonii work on all phones and tabled?

Yes! MyMonii app works on all phones and tablets as long as you have an Apple phone with iOS 12.0+ or an Android phone 5.0+
